For my 80th post I have chosen to complete my first Haul for Superdrug. In all honesty its been boots that I been drawn to over the past few months. With their fab offers and new offering on their shelves. But last week I walked into superdrug or a mascara and came out with a bag filled with goodies and a lighter purse!
So what did I buy? Well here is my list and hopefully their could be some good reviews coming your way soon……
MUA Bronzer in shade 3. This is a matte bronzer and just a £1 for 5.7g of golden goodness. I swatched this in store and was so impressed with this. I even have on today! My new contour quite possibly?
Derm V10 Rescue Oil, I have been a fan of Bio Oil for years now after two pregnancies it has served me well. The reason for down grading to a budget brand is a fab review ive seen on Miss Budge Beauty HERE This claims to have no mineral oil (which bio oil has quite a lot of) so could be better and great value for money.
My son cracked his head open a couple of weeks ago and this is safe for even the most sensitive of skins so I will be using this to try and reduce scaring.
Next up Naturally Radiant Brightening Renewal Mask. I got this on a half price deal for £2.50. This superdrug own brand are well known for their hot cloth wash and Ive seen loads of rave reviews on that so heres hoping this could be a good little find. All of this brand is currently flaunting a half price offering instore!
Ive been searching now for the new maybelline brow mascara for around a month and cant leave it any longer to tame those beasts above my eyeballs so I purchased The Collection Colour Lash Clear Mascara. This was £1.99 also the cheapest mascara I could find as when buying a product for this reason I have alway gone with the cheaper the better!
With my skin I have now been put on tablets and given an extremely drying cream to help clear up the current bout of acne I am experiencing, my normal oil free ones are still showing flaking when I apply makeup so I thought the time was right for me to try of Niveas Hydrating Primer. I used yesterday and apart from the initial sting (related to my treatment not the cream) This has worked a treat for keeping the face dandruff at bay!
After using the Revlon Lash Potion review HERE. I was thinking it was time to give water proof mascaras a go again after around 3/4 years of avoiding them. I have purchased Maybelline The Rocket Volum’ Express and or though this mascara is great I was swiftly reminded of why I am not keen on waterproof mascaras. I hate the tacky feel on my lashes that seems to last all day. The scrubbing involved with removal. (If anyone has a miracle product for this please do comment!) and the morning after I still wake up looking like Kung Foo Panda!
Lastly but ow so not leastly! Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr in Metallic Pomegranate! Just WOW! Im already a fan of the formulation. I was showing it off to my sister on friday and no amount of rubbing removed it off my hand. This IS sooooo going to be my go to Autumn shade. In my eyes this is a red/brown with soft golden shimmer in it. This is very buildable for a smoky eye, yet also very blendable for day time look. There will be a full review of this product, if you liked the shade On and On Bronze you will be loving this next season (Bites lip!)
Do you need to hide what you did last night? Out all night, Guilty! No sleep with the children deciding 3am is the new 8am ? Guilty!
Ive been looking for my holy grail moisturiser for under my eyes, most formulas are to heavy and leave the delicate skin creasing and looking worse than missing a nights sleep by noon.
I have tried YSLs very famous gold e touche eclat and it makes my eyes well up leaving me with a days worth of irritation ahead of me. The closest Ive come before this was cliniques however for the cost it just runs out to quickly.
In order, 17 Stay time, Rimmel Wake up, Collection Lasting Perfection, Bourjois Healthy Mix, Mac Moisture Fix and No 7 Instant Radiance.
Here are the top concealers I have in my collection, they all look like very different colours yet apart from the Mac one they are all the light formulation.
First up 17 Stay Time. My newest addition and in my eyes a very clear replacement for the Collection one, lasts well during the day, has a great formulation for under the eyes and redness but I found does not really have the full coverage you want to use on a spot.
Rimmel’s Wake Me Up Concealer, this is the runniest formulation and sank into the skin the most was almost undetectable in the blended out swatches. This fades out during the day so reapplication is required. Great under the eyes but I would not even try using on blemishes due to lack of coverage and it does have some reflective pigments which would make that zit look like it belongs on Godzilla face!
There are also 4 shades however the lightest one that I was able to get (Ivory) can be hard to get hold of.
Collection lasting perfection, Again there are 4 shades to choose from. I loved before trying 17s newer version, this is creamy, ok over redness and spots but it does not last the day as it name seems to suggest.
Bourjois Healthy Mix, has much more of a yellow undertone to the rest, this really brightens the under eye but I feel can still look quite heavy and cakey on the skin. Dries very matt which can stand out if you have little coverage on the rest of your face without careful blending. There are 3 shades for this formula.
Mac Moisture fix, adds a light under eye coverage, but sits well during the day. For day to day this is an excellent choice but not after a very late night as will not cover the ultimate dark circles. This is the most expensive of the bunch at £15 a pop but I have included as has the widest shade selection with 14 different colours to choose from.
Finally No 7 Instant Radiance, I only by this when with the £5 off vouchers in boots. I have been a fan of this for years, the coverage is good and settles really well into the skin. The shade range however is very limited with just 3 shades and they are all fairly light. I do like the pen on this tube also.
If I had to pick one, it would be the 17 Stay Time concealer. It has quite a few shades, covers well and lasts during the day!!! Also great price at £4.49 before any offer (which there always is something o at boots!)
Whats your favourite concealer? Do you have panda eyes before breakfast?
I was subscribed to both Birchbox and Glossybox for nearly a year. I enjoyed the boxes I received but in the end I decided I was getting an lot more that I was not interested in than what I was.
I have trying to think of a alternative so I get a monthly treat sampling new products or things I have not tried before and I came across this Latest In Beauty’s luxury samples section. They do many beauty boxes currently including one for Glamour Magazine and a New Mums addition.
I took a look over the samples and decided a £10 (same cost as a beauty box) and here is an example of what you can get for your money…..
St Tropez Instant Glow Body Lotion 50ml! Great sized sample for £2.
Balance Me Radiance Face Mask 15ml. £2.50
Balm Balm Organic Lip Balm full size product £1.50
Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation 7.5ml £4
So there we have it my own little beauty box of some items I would love to try out! What would you buy?
Earlier In the week I posted my hand routine with one of my favourite products being the Soap and Glory Hand Food I had a couple of people ask why this is my go to when my hands are feeling a little hungry so I decided to do a little review on my thoughts for this product.
Hand Food, well, I been applying this for around 7 years now and these hard working palms dont look a day older than my first ever application.
Hand Food has got the original pink sent attached to it, which I just love with all my heart and goes on leaving a matte finish so Im not avoiding touching everything for the next half an hour.
Now this may sound a little silly but I used to find this hand food great for when watching what I was eating. When rubbing into my hands take a good whiff and the sent makes you want to be thinner! Not at all interested in that delicious smelling tray of cakes right next to your desk, just like you want to keep on pampering your talons all day!
This cream contains shea butter, macadamin oil and marshmallow (yes marshmallow) it promises to leave your hands soft with no greasy feel and I for one can vouch for that!
Shea butter is an intense moisturiser we all see very often in body moisturisers and body butters.
Marshmallow in skincare actually comes from the Marshmallow plant but a different section has a long history of being used to soothe irritated skin.
macadamin oil is commonly used in hair products and does not leave a greasy residue which is very useful for this product
I have also found this does not irritate any eczema or flare it up. If anything I have found it has sped up the healing process for my hands!
At £5 a pop for 125mls, this cream IS worth every penny, buy HERE from boots and also remember its always in great offers like 3 for 2 and there is a mini version for your handbag too!
